Warranty and Terms

The five year warranty covers the following:

Cracking

Hairline cracks which form within the first year of installation.      
Structural cracks that separate sufficiently to allow insertion of a dime to a depth of half its diameter.      
Structural cracks that displace adjacent pads more than 1/8” in elevation relative to each other.

Scaling

Surface pealing in excess of 1/16” depth occurring in greater than 10% of any one concrete section’s surface area due to defects in material or workmanship.

Rock Pops

Any rock pop in excess of ¼” diameter. (Due to glacial deposits of deleterious materials, rock pops occur at varying rates in Minnesota.)

 

Warranty Fullfillment:

Armstrong Concrete Inc. will fulfill the warranty by repairing, replacing or issuing a refund for the affected sections at our discretion. Repair or replacement procedures are as follows:

Cracking

Sections with warrantied cracks will be cut at the nearest control joint and the entire section will be removed and replaced.

Scaling

Sections with warrantied scaling will be repaired or will be cut at the nearest control joint and the entire section will be removed and replaced.

Rock Pops

Sections with warrantied rock pops will be repaired by drilling out the soft material and filling with mortar. If the section has more than ten rock pops in a two foot square area, the section will be cut at the nearest control joint and the entire section will be removed and replaced.

 

The five year warranty does not cover the following:

Damage caused by severe heaving of underlying ground.   
Structural cracks reforming in the same location after warranty replacement.   
Damage to garage slabs caused by road salt.
Rock pops smaller than ¼” diameter.   
Physical damage e.g., marks from ice chippers, snowplows, construction equipment, heavy trucks, etc.   
Any concrete treated with salt or chemical de-icers.   
Curb work and approaches.

 

Terms of Service:

Terms

50% down is due on projects over $2,500 before work commences.  
Remaining balance is due upon completion of the project.  
If full payment of the invoiced amount is not received within 30 days of the invoice date, a monthly late fee of 1.5% of the unpaid amount will be charged or such lesser late fee allowed under applicable law.
